10 COMMANDMENTS I wanted to capture the true essence of Saffiyah Khan’s performance, set in her home town of Birmingham, with naturalistic cinematography and style, allow for a genuine exploration of herself as a character, her lyrics and her home.
This is her own true voice without any decoration, Saffiyah bold, powerful and genuine. With the grade I wanted to reference the industrial history of Birmingham and the atmosphere of the streets of Digbeth in a truly British industrial light. This video went on to win at this years Shiny Awards 2019.
